National Rebuilding Day

Each year on the last Saturday in April, National Rebuilding Day unites volunteers from all walks of life to rehab homes and community facilities and revitalize Dayton communities. Our staff supports nearly 1,000 volunteers in rehabilitating approximately 15-20 homes and multiple community areas.

Every project that we undertake is unique. Each work site comes with a different history, unique needs, its own scope of work, and a dedicated volunteer team. Once deployed, we complete everything from yard cleanup and painting to skilled plumbing, window, electrical systems, and flooring repairs.

As we work to revitalize Dayton communities, we also work hard to provide a positive volunteer experience for our sponsors, volunteers, and community partners.

What are the results of year-long planning, evaluating, training, and organizing?

A lasting impression and life-changing experience for our volunteers and the families and individuals we serve.

We work to ensure the safety of our volunteers. If you have plans to attend one of our projects please read our post on project day tips.

National Rebuilding Day 2020

In light of recent challenges facing our communities and in an abundance of caution, particularly for the well-being of our elderly neighbors, we have made the difficult decision to postpone National Rebuilding Day 2020. While we will still carry out necessary projects through our skilled trades program, NeighborCare, we believe it is best to reschedule our 25th anniversary efforts for July 25.
